History
MyGoldenIsles was founded by Kevin Strasser in 2009. The idea to create a site promoting the sweetness of the Golden Isles was spurred by a conversation at a dinner party in Nashville. During a meet and great he introduced himself to a lady who exclaimed, "Why would you want to live near Brunswick? It stinks there!" Kevin loves living in this lovely area with so many friendly people.
Our Founder
Kevin moved his family to the Golden Isles in 2003 to escape from the Washington D.C. area rat race.
Outside of MyGoldenIsles, Kevin does contract web development work for FLETC and is the founder of Creature Software, a maker of iPad applications.
About the Site
MyGoldenIsles is the site for sharing information about activities and events within the Brunswick, St Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Sea Island area.
Anyone can submit content. We will review content for appropriateness, and maybe add a picture or fix some grammar here or there -- but our goal is to leave things as you post them. This is your site! Share your knowledge about the area. There are many hidden treasures and special people in the area that need more exposure.
MyGoldenIsles has no agenda or anything to sell. We simply love the Golden Isles and think a local portal with this focus and dialogue would be a good addition to the community.
