I've tried burgers all over the Golden Isles and you need look no further than Brogen's North on St. Simons Island.

Their burgers are big, tasty and juicy, hand made from freshly ground meat and grilled to order any way you like, including rare (my personal preference - yeah, I take my life in my hands). I usually get the mushroom and swiss burger dressed with lettuce, tomato and extra mayo. You also get to choose either a side of slaw, steak fries or terrific onion rings.

Brogen's North also offers a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees, great pizza and a full bar, something for everyone.

Another Plus about Brogen's

Both locations have pinball machines. A huge plus in my view and something I am going write about soon.

Burgers are good there -- no doubt, but I might lean toward Five Guys or Twin Oaks. Hard call.

Agreed!

Hands down the best burger in town. I was very excited when we finally got a Five Guys since I heard only good things about them, but unfortunately I was not WOW'd like I was with Brogan's. Their beef just has great flavor... and you can order it rare!

I, too, was glad to be able to try a Five Guys burger once they opened a store here, and while everything tasted very fresh, it did not compare to Brogen's (and I really don't like Five Guys french fries). I definitely plan to try a Twin Oaks burger.

Definitely get the fries at Twin Oaks. I agree the fries at Five Guys are nothing to fawn over. I do like throwing peanut shells on the floor though. Something about that gives me an odd thrill. Haha.

true all are good
