Golden Isles 4th of July Fireworks Shootout
A quick comparison of 4th of July gatherings in Downtown Brunswick, St. Simons Island, and Jekyll Island.
Downtown Brunswick
- Downtown Brunswick is a great, old-fashioned affair.
- There are games for children, contests such as a hula-hoop contest, and more fun.
- It is much less crowded than St. Simons Island or even Jekyll Island for the holiday proceedings. The easiest site to get in and out of.
Suggested for: Those who dislike crowds and are not necessarily into the beach scene.
St. Simons Island
- St. Simons has a lot going on for 4th of July. There are booths with food and goodies, moon bounces, games, and slides for the kids, live music and much more.
- The downside is that it is crazy crowded. You have to get there early just to get a good spot to sit and camp out. Driving home back to the mainland can be very painful.
Suggested for: People living on St. Simons or partiers interested in the post fireworks bar and live music scene.
Jekyll Island
- Jekyll is my personal favorite. It is kind of the best of both worlds.
- Awesome beach views of fireworks, but less crowded and easier parking than St. Simons.
- They also have live music, food booths, and activities also.
Suggested for: Everyone that feels St. Simons is a bit too crowded, but enjoy the beach fireworks scene.
